Agria Pet Insurance Review

In this Agria review, we take a closer look at what the company have to offer UK pet owners. We hope the review will help you to decide whether Agria Pet Insurance is the right choice for you and your pet.

Who Are Agria?

Agria* are one of the world’s leading Pet Insurance companies. They actually invented Pet Insurance way back in 1890! Agria have been providing Pet Insurance around the world for over 120 years. In 2009 they also began to offer Pet Insurance policies in the UK.

In the UK, Agria currently offer insurance for cats, dogs and rabbits. They are best-known for their Lifetime Pet Insurance cover*, which we’ll discuss in more detail in this review.

What Cover Do Agria Offer?

Agria currently offer cat, dog and rabbit insurance in the UK. But what kind of cover do they offer and what are the benefits?

The main selling point of Agria’s Pet Insurance product is that they offer Lifetime Cover as standard. What this basically means is that if your pet develops an ongoing illness or injury at any time from the moment you sign up for an Agria Pet Insurance policy* then, as long as you renew your policy each year, the amount of vet cover you are entitled to will reset each year to £12,500. This is important as many standard pet insurance policies refuse to cover a condition in future years once a claim has been made.

Lifetime Pet Cover can really put a pet owners mind at rest, as they know that their pet will continue to receive the best care available for the rest of their life if they do develop an ongoing condition.

What Else Do Agria Offer?

As well as offering Lifetime cover as standard on their policies, Agria also have other things to offer that might be of interest to UK pet owners.

The first thing is that their staff are all based in the UK. This could be important when you contact the company to make a claim or dicuss an existing claim. This may contribute in some way to the fact that 9 out of 10 claims are paid with Agria.

The second point of note is that – if you would prefer it – Agria can arrange to have your claim paid directly to your vet in order to streamline the whole claims process for you.

Finally, at £12,500 per year (£2,500 for rabbits), Agria* offer a very good level of annual vet fee cover. If you need more than this, then there are companies out there who offer more – like Bought by Many who offer £15,000 with their Complete Cover – but whether the extra cover is worth the money or not will obviously depend on the kind of quotes you receive from both companies.

Agria Customer Reviews

When reviewing a financial product, I always take a look at what other customers have said about the company. With Agria, the results here are exceptionally positive. With a Trustpilot score of 9.1 out of 10 and with 94% rating the company as either good or excellent. This is one of the most positive scores I’ve seen considering it is based on over 500 reviews.

I also find it encouraging that Agria take the time to respond to customer reviews on a site like Trustpilot. Not all companies do this and it shows that they really do care about their customers and respond to any concerns they may have.

Here is an example of a recent review left by a customer.

Carol – ‘Excellent Service’

I had to make an expensive claim when my puppy broke his leg Christmas Day. I felt awful as I had only paid one premium at that point. I’m 63 and this is only the second time I have ever claimed on an insurance policy. It was settled with no disputes & all communication was professional & helpful. I cannot praise them enough & would recommend them to everyone’

Absolutely shocking, premium went up by more than 40%, told was pets age (he’s 2) and vet fees in area. I have made no claims at all, had lifetime cover!! To add insult to injury they have proceeded to take 3 payments from my bank after policy was cancelled. Would definitely not recommend.

We have just had our insurance renewal quote for our 4 year old Labrador. It comes in at just under £700, up by £200 in the last two years. Utter nonsense – we shall not be renewing.
