Louie Appeal

The family of Ten month old baby Louie from Colne, Lancashire who had his legs amputated from below the knee after contracting meningitis have set up an appeal to help buy specialist equipment.

Ten-month-old Louie Jenkins also lost the fingers on his left hand and tips of his fingers on his right after contracting the disease.

His family have now set up the Little LAMB (Louie’s Amazing Meningitis Battle) Appeal to help raise the funds to buy equipment which will be needed to support him as he grows!

His mum Julie said “Over the next few years we will need a lot of specialist equipment to help Louie to try and have a normal life. We are unsure what he will need and how much we will need to raise.

We may have to make adaptations to the house so that as Louie gets older he is able to get up and downstairs on his own. We also want to put money aside so that he can have prosthetic legs with joints in when he’s older. These cost around £7,000 just for one leg.”

Louie will soon be at the stage where he will be in need of the prosthetic legs, so urgent donations are needed!
