Surround yourself with the right people and the rest is easy

Hey everyone, the weekend is upon us again!

It has been a lively week here on Money Bulldog so I hope you’ve been keeping up. The highlight of my week came yesterday when we were privileged enough to have our ‘Investing in Whisky’ series mentioned on which drove some significant traffic to our site, so I’d like to say a big thank you to them. We’ve been mentioned by some amazing friends and websites in the past but as far as exposure goes this is probably the biggest mention we’ve had so far, apart from when Mr.CBB shares a post to Facebook of course, can’t help but see a huge jump in traffic then.

As many of you will know, I recently started a second blog called Money Rebound and ever since I’ve been desperately trying to get to grips with running two blogs. I was watching a funny yet embarrassing television program with Mrs.B the other night called The Call Centre. Now, although the boss and main character of the show is quite simply a real life David Brent and his methods are somewhat questionable (Not sure if he’s called Brent in the American version of The Office?), he did recite a quote that I feel is of benefit to anybody venturing into multiple website ownership, ‘Surround yourself with the right people and the rest is easy’.

Over the past few weeks I’ve had a lot of help and advice from the right people and I can’t thank them enough. Firstly we have my staff writer on Money Rebound Jen who – despite all that she has been going through recently – has managed to keep us all entertained over at Money Rebound with some excellent and unique posts.

I’ve also had a lot of great advice from some top bloggers like Jeremy over @ Modest Money, John @ Frugal Rules & Pauline @ Reach Financial independence. On top of all that Daisy who runs Add Vodka & Suburban Finance was kind enough to link up to my new blog Money Rebound as others have done already which I really appreciate, Laurie @ The Frugal Farmer has also helped out lots in this area. To ease the workload I managed to find a couple of great virtual assistants and web developers to pick up the slack when I’m running short on time or simply don’t have the know how to deal with the technical aspects of running a blog. Last but by no means least, I’ve had some quality posts written by external writers, two of which were featured on The Globe and Mail, so if you haven’t had a chance to read them yet be sure to check them out.

So if you’re planning on starting a second blog or even a third, be ready. From my experience so far, it’s not something that you can do on your own. If you do manage it on your own, please let me know how!

I’m going to be catching up on my favourite blogs over the weekend so I’ll mention my favourite posts of the week over the next few days. While I’m on a thanking mission though, I do need to give a shout out to those who have linked up to us in recent weeks. If I’ve missed you out please let me know as we don’t always get a pingback.

Have a great weekend everyone!

  4. Hi Adam! I was just browsing your website for the past 2 weeks I think and I can tell that you have a really really great website. by the way, congrats on your second blog!
Back to the topic of the article, I just want to say that I really agree with you having the right friends and people beside will only make your life or work easier.
I just wish I had that kind of people in my life today.

    • Hi Mark, thanks for the kind words. You’re blogging in the right niche if you’re looking for people who are willing to help. If you ever have any questions let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them. Apart from that I’m sure if you reach out to any of those mentioned above, they’ll also be more than willing to help.

  5. Thanks so much for the mention Adam, I really appreciate it! That’s awesome on the Globe & Mail mention, and I am sure that did drive a lot of traffic your way. I also like it when Mr. CBB shares my posts on FB as well, I always see a nice bump in traffic. 🙂

    • I know John, he’s a force to be reckoned with on Facebook isn’t he. I think his fans need a celebrity name, maybe the CBBeliebers? Cheesy comment I know, it is a Friday though so hope I’ll be forgiven 🙂 Have a good one mate.

I don’t know how you do it! I had to hand off FFA completely when I started my new gig. There just wasn’t enough of me for both spots. A juggler, I’m not!

    • Hey Joe! I wondered what was going on. I didn’t know you’d started your own blog, thought it was a spinoff of FFA. I’ll be sure to subscribe to emails from your new site! Hope you’re well.

  7. Congratulations mate on getting into the Globe and Mail I bet the traffic was crazy for you. Maybe one day I should be so lucky… be proud mate. I’m happy to hear your new blog is doing well. I can’t imagine running 2 but you have the drive to make it happen. Keep up the good work.. go have a brew now! Ha!

  8. Congrats on the mention, running two blogs has got to be tough. I’ve been thinking of putting together a network of niche blogs with others but just don’t have the time at the moment. Being able to drive traffic back and forth between sites is a great thing!

  9. Having the right people around can indeed make a lot of difference to your current disposition and how you handle task at hand. Just like you, the right people can help you achieve and finish your goals. Congratulations on your new blog and with the on
