Stressed About Money? Just Forget It For A Weekend!

January can be a really tough month for those who are struggling to survive financially. In previous posts on Money Bulldog I’ve talked about the importance of facing up to your finances and not burying your head in the sand when it comes to money and debt. At times though, allowing yourself a mental break from the stress and worry of debt can be just as healthy.

If you’re stressed about money why not make it your resolve to put it to the back of your mind for just one weekend. I’m not saying you should get the credit card out or spend money you don’t have. Just think of a few really cheap activities you can enjoy with the family and don’t let the stress of money spoil them. You could head to the park, play in the snow, have a game of Monopoly or even make a batch of pancakes with the kids. Let’s face it, can you really solve all your money problems between now and Monday?

Don’t let the stress of money engulf you. Look at the positive things you have in your life and focus on them this weekend. You may just find that come Monday, you’ll have a renewed energy to attack your money problems from a fresh perspective.

  1. January is probably one of the worst months for money worries, then tax season is just around the corner as well. Good idea just to take a weekend off to forget about it, chill out and revisit and plan when the weekend is over. I think that’s a great idea! Have a great weekend mate.

January is indeed a bad month, with the weather and all, it makes it easy to think negative about just anything. You are right, problems won’t be solved in a day so why worry? Thank you for the mention!

I agree….why do we think about issues when there is little we can do about them? Rest up and be strong on Monday for the attack. Thanks for linking to our little piece on education planning!
