Flirting With a Mistress
What’s this all about I hear you say?? Well don’t worry it’s not what you think. Mrs.B and I are still going strong and I think she’ll be having a few words with me for even joking about having a mistress in the title! I do still feel like I’m cheating on my first love though, online love that is. Money Bulldog now has a sister site which you can find at MoneyRebound.com! Maybe I shouldn’t have said sister, this is just getting weirder!
It’s been about a year since I first set up Money Bulldog and time has really flown. In that time I’ve taken a course in accounting, sold a house, moved house and now we’re moving again. During all this I’ve also been writing posts for Money Bulldog (some of which I hope have been useful) and embarking on the huge learning curve that is personal finance blogging.
When I started Money Bulldog I really didn’t have a clue what I was doing, I was just making it up as I went along. After 12 months of blogging and interacting with so many other amazing personal finance bloggers though, I finally feel ready to take the plunge and take on another project. I know in the past few weeks I’ve been complaining about my lack of time but a few of the time commitments which I’ve been juggling around for months are soon coming to an end and Mrs.B has finally given me permission to branch out and add a .com to my blog repertoire.
How Good are you at Juggling?
Well the weekend has arrived again and what a week it’s been. I’ve signed up to rent a house over the other side of the country (Which is sort of what my future fear post was all about), I also passed another accounting exam leaving just 2 left to pass and I’ll finally have that other string to my bow and all this whilst doing my best to optimize my blog, run a business and be a dad! The madness has meant that I’ve been a little quiet when it comes to commenting on and sharing other blog posts this week, I hope you can forgive me.
I feel like things have really taken their toll this week and it’s got me to wondering , What do all the other part time bloggers out there have going on in their lives and are they better at juggling things than I am or do they also feel the heat at times?
I’m usually the sort of person who becomes very obsessive about whatever I’m doing, giving it my all. So when I hit these points where I seem to be juggling 50 different things and just scraping by on most of them I really don’t like it but then I guess life is just like that sometimes. Hopefully once the impending move is out of the way (3 weeks to go) and the remaining exams are over things can return to some kind of normality, if there is such a thing!
Future Fear ~ Don’t Let it Paralyze You
Every day of our lives we are all faced with decisions that need to be made. Some decisions will seem small and somewhat insignificant like what we’re going to eat for dinner or what clothes we are to wear, yet they still have consequences. If you consistently decide to eat too much of the wrong type of food for example then you’ll start to gain weight and your health could be affected.
At times though we can be faced with much bigger decisions like whether to apply for or take a certain job, whether to buy a house, whether to have children or even whether to move to another part of the world. These decisions are quite clearly going to have a huge impact on your life and in some cases it’s impossible to change your mind once you’ve made them.When faced with decisions as big as these many people get hit with ‘Future Fear’, a fear of choosing the wrong future.
Future fear can be so daunting that it often renders its subjects paralyzed and rather than facing up to the big choices we all have to make in life, future fear can prevent us from making a decision at all. I came across the term future fear in a film I watched when I was a lad and it’s stayed with me because as a person I tend to weigh up every big decision a million times before making it. Although thinking hard about big decisions is a wise thing to do, there’s also an inherent danger for over analyzers like me.
As an over analyzer I tend to look at every possible negative outcome that might occur when taking a certain course of action. The problem with this personality trait is that almost every decision we make in life has a potential negative outcome. If you choose to get married for example there’s a chance that you could end up divorced, if you choose to start your own business there might be times when you have little or no work, if you choose to buy a house then there’s a possibility you could buy the wrong house, every decision has a possible negative outcome. The big question is whether you’ll let these potential negative outcomes correctly influence your decision or whether you’ll let them paralyze you with fear?
Fun Friday ~ The Amazing Chalk Man
The beauty of running your own blog is that come Friday you can pretty much do what you want, I mean who really wants to be stressing about money on a Friday! So I thought I’d share some pictures I was sent in an email today, I think they’re amazing and I’m sure you’ll think so too, check them out below. I’m not really sure where the guy who creates them is from or even where these 3D chalk drawings are being done, if any of you readers know then please leave a comment below so I can think about paying a visit.

Adding Another String To The Bow
I think I should apologise for the late blog round up post this week. I’ve been doing my utmost to juggle several different balls recently and, unfortunately, I had to drop one for a few days. The reason is that I’m currently in the process of adding another string to my bow!
