Mrs Bulldog, Really?

I have a bit of a dilemma and I’m hoping you can all help me out! In recent weeks I’ve seen a trend emerging in the Personal Finance Blogosphere. It’s a trend that might have been around for a while and one I’m only just picking up on but it’s presenting me with a bit of a problem because it involves my wife!
As I’ve been doing my usual weekly rounds reading some fantastic blog posts from a few of my blogger friends, I’ve been noticing that their wives all seem to have developed blog synonyms! We have Mrs CBB, Mrs Frugal Rules, Mrs WSL and this has all presented me with a bit of a dilemma, What Do I Call My Wife?
The obvious one that comes to mind is Mrs Bulldog but that sounds a little more than harsh doesn’t it? I mean yes she has a few dominant personality traits and has also been known to bite but Mrs Bulldog still doesn’t have a great ring to it. She seems keen on Mrs Money but is that a little generic and would some people confuse her with a Bond character? In fact maybe Mrs MoneyPenny wouldn’t be bad?
Anyway I’m getting a little sick of saying ‘My wife and I’ so maybe you can help me come up with a more appropriate synonym than Mrs Bulldog!

Well it’s been another week of amazing personal finance blog posts around the web. I was thinking of pointing out one or two of my favourites from the list but they’re all so good that it would be wrong of me to do it. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

Thanks for the mention! How about Princess or Queen Bulldog? I originally thought that I would suggest Perdita, that was the female dog in the Disney classic, 101 Dalmations’s love scene. But it translates into “loss”, probably not a good PF name 🙂
You’re digging a hole for me here Jose, she now thinks I should call her Queen B around the house!
Thanks for mentioning my post. I think Mrs Bulldog is fine. Let’s face it, who doesn’t like bulldogs?
Good point Glen, especially when they’re sat in a swing!
All three above are great suggestions! I think the use of bulldog is perfect too. It just fits. 🙂
She’s warming to Bulldog as we go down this comment list Laurie. Hopefully the Googleites who have never read this post will understand!
Just call her Jenny! Or Suzy, we’ll never know… I like Queen B like Jose offered. Thanks for the mention!
Or even Frederick! She’s liking Queen B I have to say but it seems too nice now. 🙂
Well let’s see. I thought maybe it could be the female version of bull or dog. But the female version of bull is cow; and of dog is b!tch. She probably wouldn’t like either one of those.
You know, when I was a kid, I remember writing this little book about a dog marrying a cat. Because I thought that dogs were boys and cats were girls. So you could do something like that. She could be Mrs. Cat, Mrs. Kitty, Mrs. Pussycat, Mrs. Meow… ?
Ha, My wife was laughing at these TB! Unfortunately though she’s not a huge fan of cats, she’s definately got more bark than meow!
I don’t know if it is appropriate for us to name your wife, is it? Just kidding. You could go with Mrs. BullMoney, a little combo of both. Thanks for mentioning my rant. I appreciate it.
Anything goes on Money Bulldog Grayson. Mrs BullMoney, it’s on the shortlist! No worries mate, I enjoyed reading it.
Honestly mate, I’m sitting here on me own laughing out loud at this. Mrs.Bulldog lol.. what does she have to say about that haha… I think it’s sounds dominating even if she does bite once in a while. Mate I like Mrs.Bulldog.. Mr and Mrs. Bulldog lol… Bloody hell, I better stop now before you chase me away. Have a great weekend my friend, say hi to the Mrs… 😉
It was you that came up with Mrs Bulldog mate but she wasn’t too thrilled, I ran the risk even writing this post but I’ve been forgiven now! 🙂
Lol! I read the post to my wife and she nearly fell off her chair laughing. 🙂 I say go with it…as long as she’s cool with it of course. 🙂 Thanks for the mention!
Thanks mate, I fell off my chair when my wife saw the post, she’s stronger than she looks!
Thanks for the mention! How about Mrs. B, or one of my nicknames is T-Dog! How about B-Dog, MBD (for Mrs. B Dog)? 🙂
Hey T-Dog, I’ll pass the suggestions on. I like Mrs. B, sounds like she’s about to bake a pie! No problem on the mention, glad to help.
“Excuse me, Mrs. Bulldog?” Yes, it sounds a little funny, but I like Budget & Beach’s MBD. We all have so many acronyms, you could probably just use whatever acronym you like and we’ll know you’re talking about your wife. “XYZ and I went to the park today”…
Yeah I like that one too. My wife’s not seen those yet so I’ll get her opinion in the morning, she has an email subscription so if she’s going to be reading regularly I want her to be happy. I keep trying to persuade her to write a post but so far without success!
Ya I’m not sure about Mrs. Bulldog. Why not Mrs. B instead?
Mrs.B is great, I’ll let you know what she decides soon!
